Check the current portal values

The Colombian visa portal currently describes a JPG photograph with its own maximum file size. Confirm the displayed limit and dimensions when you apply because portal rules can change.

Before reducing the file

Use an even, plain background and neutral lighting.
Keep the face centered and unobstructed.
Crop to the proportions requested by the portal.
Export as JPG, not as a PDF page.
Open the final image and confirm that facial details remain sharp.

Reduce size carefully

Start from the original photograph and export a copy at the required dimensions. Lower JPEG quality only as much as needed. Repeatedly saving an already compressed JPG creates artifacts around the eyes, hairline and background.

Keep it separate

Do not add this photograph to the document PDFs merely to keep all files together. The application form provides a distinct photo field and document attachments have a different purpose.
